I am disapointed and disillusioned at the current state of our wonderful country. I think the idea of a two party system has run it's course. It is obvious to me and many others that we, the American people need to take our country back literally. The mistake we make is to think of ourselves as victims. We are the power that runs this country. We have been lulled to sleep by our televisions, our fears, our possesions and our political affiations. We have accepted the "idea" that we are little and limited and just plain don't count. Well, WAKE UP....now is the time that we realize we've been taken advantage of by the exact people who are supposed to representing us. We're so stuck in this 2 party situation, it is a big smoke screen and totally disfunctional. I have an idea of another way to vote in our representatives that is a more logical,workable solution. Wake up fellow citizens....we hire, yes I said HIRE the people in Washington. Why are we limiting our choice to 2 choices who are members of apposing camps? We are all on the same side! And the electorial college is ludicrous! I'm sure when our founding fathers put this system together is was all for a good reason, but today it is simply disfunctional! Now, I'm not sure exactly how "we the people" go about changing everything....but everything needs to change, including the way we hire our President right down the line. My sense would be to gather hand signed petitions outlining a new system and present them to our current judicial system. We should be hiring them too! All through history there have been brave people who have stepped forward and told the truth. I for one am an American Citizen, born in Indiana, I've paid taxes for 40 years and I don't feel good about the way my money is being handled. I don't trust that our system is "for the people" anymore. I'm not willing to stay asleep and continue this charade.
